Located in Ōhinewai, Waikato, this wharenui was designed for the whānau of Matahuru Marae.

The building’s form is defined by its raking gable ends and central apex, creating a strong sense of presence and purpose. It offers a contemporary expression of tradition — grounded, functional, and connected to place.

Clad in cedar and plywood, Wharepapa conveys both warmth and resilience. Our involvement in this project was a valued opportunity to support the aspirations of the whānau.
